"Common Sense" for Authors and Book Clubs

Lucy Moore is author of "Into the Canyon: Seven Years in Navajo Country," a memoir about her life in Chinle, Arizona, and Canyon de Chelly during the late 1960's and early 1970's. Lucy grew up in Seattle, went east to college, and then in 1968 moved to the Navajo Reservation where she tried to be useful in a variety of ways, including teaching Headstart, serving as Justice of the Peace, and selling car insurance. Since 1975 she has lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she is a mediator specializing in environmental and cross-cultural disputes. Addicted to writing, she has also written plays, short stories and case studies from her work as a mediator. Lucy lives with her artist husband Roberto Gallegos and their cat Fluffy outside Santa Fe. She has two grown sons and one grandson, who also loves to write.
