For Book Clubs:
--Give authors plenty of lead time
--Let authors know your policy on selling books at meetings
--Have a single contact person from your book club
--Let the author know if you'd like her/him to do a reading
--Give clear directions to the meeting place

--Honor commitments; if there are changes, give book clubs enough time to make them
--Ask if you can sell books
--Ask if you can publicize the event to people outside the book club
--Have a few formal comments prepared, even if you don't use them
